A focus on onshore wind energy

We have chosen to focus our activity on onshore wind energy because we consider it the most advanced (not including hydro) of renewable energies.

The wind industry benefits from a mature technology and favorable political support in the countries where THEOLIA operates. Significant technological progress has been achieved these past few years to make wind equipment reliable, which has allowed for a price decline of the related equipment.

At the same time, THEOLIA closely monitors the offshore wind market and its perspectives, without yet establishing it as a business unit.

Finally, the Group is present in the solar industry, on a very small scale, thanks to a photovoltaic solar park located in the Sarre in Germany. This solar park, with a capacity of 2.9 MWc, was developed and built by THEOLIA. The Group also owns a 35% stake in the German company Ecolutions, which is active in the development of solar projects.
